what's the most gangster thing you have actually seen with your own eyes?

I was at McDonalds the other day to get my kids an ice cream cone and I saw the lady at the register wearing earrings that were brass knuckles. I tried to be slick and use my iphone to snap a picture without anyone knowing what I was doing, and sadly the image doesn't show what I saw, but here it is anyway.

What "gangster" stuff have you seen?

I'm still trying to understand why you went to McD's for an ice cream cone. You don't have a DQ or Carvel?

I went to a bar by my house that I've never been to before and while walking from my car to the bar another bar patron was enterng the bar. He was wearing a lime green 3 piece suit with heavily heeled white shoes and a fedora hat. He even had a feather in the hat. He looked like Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch.

I decided that I was not in the demographic of this bar's clientele range.

I used to work for a federal nutrition program where we did home visits on child care providers.  Having gone to school on the East Coast, I was so impressed that all these women and kids were wearing what I thought was North Carolina blue.  Little did my naive self know that Carolina Blue is a local gang Crips color.  No wonder they'd all look at me weird when I said something about the Tarheels.

I was at a friends house near Anaheim and there was a drive by shooting. People were running up and down the street banging on doors and screaming. It was freaky.

Then another drive by shooting at my Mother in laws house in Sacramento, at night, the kids and I were sleeping in the bedroom near the street. By the time I threw the kids on the floor it was over. The shot up the house right next to us.

I spent several weekends in East LA (Alhambra) with a buddy (from the USMC) who was in the Las Lomas gang, back in '85. Met a couple other gang members, but never saw any "activity". these guys were the real thing, and scary.

About 15+ years ago, I was eatting at Denny's with a couple of friends late at night. Tony (black dude) was wearing an oversized red t-shirt. Jerry (mulatto but acts white) and me (white but act blacker than Jerry). Well these 3 young punks come up to Tony and say "you from Midway" and Tony is like "Nah, you must hae me mistaken for somebody else" and these dudes just stand there for a second and then they leave. A few seconds later they roll past the window hanging out the car window of an old buick all throwing gang sings. At that point Jerry is under the table, Tony goes back to his Grand Slam, and I politely wave back (not realizing what was up til later...cause we dont see a lot of gang signs being thrown up in rural Wisconsin...unless it is some Douchebag on MTV).

Lots of neck tattoos too. I consider those pretty "gansta" but pretty soon everybody will have them

I think I saw a Smurf gansta last week on the streets of downtown Helen, GA.  I almost rear ended the car in front of me when I saw this tall, stick thin guy wearing a lycra toy blue bodysuit from head to toe.  This suit  had no seams and covered his entire head and face on a 98 degree day! Creepy!!

In case anyone likes this look, I found one on eBay  http://cgi.ebay.com/Good-Sexy-Lycra-Zentai-spandex-Unisex-catsuit-Blue-/250670966842?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5d27683a

I really don't get out enough!

I'm no expert but a blue bodysuit is not gangsta.

I saw a woman stop her car in the middle of my (former) street, get out and shoot at her passenger.

I had some gangsta friends when I was younger. Each summer in college I worked at a local factory. The summer help was half college boys and half gangstas. Now and then I'd hang out with the gangstas. One guy told me a tale of how he got into a shootout with the cops but his gun jammed. I still have a scar from that dude where accidently stabbed me in the abs with a giant power drill. Another dude from that job got arrested for stabbing a convenience store worker in the head during an armed robbery. He seemed nonviolent when we were drinking 40s during lunch break.

So. Cal

1- When I was 10 I saw a guy pull a shotgun on his wife er.... soon to be ex wife because she threw all of his stuff out side the house and a diesel truck ran it over.

2- When I was 10 I told a girl to shut up and her older brother hit me in the gut with his skateboard.

After that, we would take small chains with locks on the end to school and start swinging when needed.

Vegas

1. In "Naked City" behind the Stratosphere, I saw a car pull over... heard some yelling, saw a lady run out into an open field and try to slit her wrist. A guy went running after her grab her and throw her back in the car.

2. When I was a COP in Henderson, I saw a lot of GANGSTA sh*t.

If you were a cop, you can't play the gangsta game. This is only for amateur middle aged suburbian or rural peeps.

This is not necessarily gangsta....but it's pretty ghetto. It's a sad state of affairs, but I actually think the girl and guy in this news clip show some pretty strong resiliency and find it somewhat inspiring in a strange way...

Watch this one first...

Then watch the remix...

This guy is going to be a celebrity. Watch out!

LMAO @ EM's post...that is soo funny! I see all kinds of gansta stuff where I live. When I was 20 years old I moved to Inglewood. I lived off Florence and Crenshaw (about a mile from where the riots started). You name it, I have seen it! Ahhh...lovely southern cali.
