This is the first thread in the individual fitness journals forum.  This forum is like the team forum where you can post and get support, but the thread is for the individual to post progress and get support rather than a team.  Please limit yourself to one thread unless it gets too long - no more than one per 4 weeks.

As for me, since i'm not really a member of a team it sounds good to me.  I need a place to blather on without annoying others

So why is this my most important challenge?  I have high blood pressure and may be starting to show early warning signs of diabetes down the line if I don't change my ways.  I am not getting any younger and being out of shape and overweight is starting to catch up to me.

I started this challenge weighing the most I ever have - and I refuse to go higher.  I'm determined to get through this challenge and keep going until I achieve my goals!

Cardio completed today and weights in just over 12 hours.  My cardio is actually better than I expected, but the muscles were definitely not used to that kind of workout anymore.  Look forward to getting back up to my cardio shape from last summer.

I had crazy killer DOMS the last few days from not lifting in almost a year.  I am looking forward to getting my biceps back in the shape they were in last year (and better).

BTW my name is Michelle...

That's ok, we'll just come here and annoy you instead.  Great job on getting back in the swing of things.

Thanks... the only thing that is really demoralizing is having so far to go   Wish I could do it in one challenge.

Ever seen my before pics?  Just know that you can't get impatient and you don't dare give up if you have a set back.  The reason I've been successful is because no matter what, I just keep doing what I must do for my health.  I'm no good to anyone else when I don't.   In fact, I tend to be really beouchy

Getting in shape and staying in shape is not a 12 week committment. Consistency wins.

Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?

Got my weightlifting for the day done.  Felt good.  I had a lot more energy than the first time and still had extra energy when I was done, compared to the first time when I was completely wiped and didn't make it all the way through the last set of exercises.  I'm going to do an extra cardio tonight to make up for the workouts I missed over the weekend when I was unable to do anything.  I may go ahead and just start doing 2 a days every day.  Still eating clean... also my gym is close enough to walk to, so i'm getting about a mile and a half walking in when I go as well.

I'm down 5 pounds since starting tho I'm sure probably at least 4 of that is water weight.  I'll still take it!!!

Hour and a half after my workout, my BP was 122/82 (best i can recall ever) and my pulse was still over 100!! that's gonna be a nice post workout calorie burn.

My BP prior to starting was average upper 130s - upper 150s over upper 80s - 110.  Average probably around 145/98 or so.  i used to be on meds for it I am now taking apple cidar vinegar pills and using diet/exercise.  i'm sure the numbers will continue to improve as my fitness does and weight drops.  After i did some crunches at the gym I actually got a little light headed standing up (low blood pressure sign).

Great idea!  And excellent progress on the BP numbers.  I assume your goal is to reach 120/80 or better?   Anyhow, good luck with that and we'll be checking up on you!       Smile
