I have a question about adding supplements while on BFL. I will be starting on the 23rd I have a big belly and skinny arms and legs I want to of course build those up. I was thinking of taking creatine but would that be beneficial if I am trying to lose the belly fat or should I wait until I lose some of the fat 1st? Also is there any other supplements anyone would recommend besides creatine to build muscle.

Thanks, Chris

34 views and no replies? Surely there has to be someone on here that can give me some kind of idea what has been working for them.

This is why I am a lurker now and not active in the community. If this is your first challenge I would keep it simple. My downfall on my first challenge was information overload on technique and nutritional supplements. What to do when to do it for optimal peak performance blah blah. Focus on cleaning up your diet and getting your workouts in. The only supp I would worry about is Protein powder, protein shakes are very convenient. From what I understand it can take as long as 28 days of creatine loading for your muscles to reach the max level/max benefits, and you have to feed your muscle a daily dose to maintain the levels. You can get creatine from natural food sources like salmon, tuna, beef, and pork, but nothing like the concentrated levels of a supp. Bottom line focus on nutrition, exercise and completing your challenge. Sorry if this is not what you want to hear. Good luck on your challenge.

I agree with keith - if you're focus is losing weight, focus on just good diet and exercise. Don't worry about supplements until you are focusing on bulking up. Foods are better sources of vitamins and minerals than supplements.

Thats exactly what I want to hear. I dont want to buy all these supplements when there is no need. I did go to Sams wholesale and bought and 18 pack of myoplex lite and that is what I used only last time. I am going to focus on losing the fat then really focus on gaining the muscle after its done. Thanks for the replies all.

Angua said it well. Just make sure you are getting about 1g/lb of weight in protein and take Jared's advice about the Iron Really challenge yourself to push as heavy weight as you can and eat right. You'll get there, it takes time, but there are no shortcuts or supplements that will replace moving some major Iron and eating healthy.

As for no replies, just sometimes people aren't in the mood to answer a certain question or maybe they don't know a good answer. Eventually someone with a good answer or some of us regularls will see the thread and post.

Creatine won't hurt you but it's not necessary as many people have said. If you do use it in the future, there is no reason to load it. Research now shows that loading phases of creatine are no more beneficial that simply taking the regular dose.
