Owen - you'll basically have to adapt your system after your challenge (or after you reach your goals. you can't keep losing weight forever, so once you hit your target build, you simply add a little more food into the equation as maintenance to stay at that target weight. Just keep it clean and you'll be OK.
Since we seem to have alot of people starting, I may as well share my first BFL story. My first "challenge" (it wasn;t really a challenge, I just followed the principles) spanned my entire freshman year of college, nine years ago. I ate clean and often, but I worked out more than prescribed, with weightlifting and cardio everyday Monday to Thursday, plus more lifting Friday. This was basically Spetember until May.
I started out college at 155 pounds and 16% bf. When I came home that summer, I weighed in at 195 pounds and 14% bf. I used only over the counter supplements (they were stronger back then, you could get AD-1 and HGH precursors).
Great results are possible if you stick with it!

Brittani - I can definitely see how all of those changes and turmoils would throw you off course. I know all about hanging with friends who have less than spectacular eating habits. I have gotten close to my target weight twice in the past ten years but I always manage to fall back into that social lifestyle. I appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. To answer an earlier question, I only workout twice on wieght days, I try to cardio every morning. If I am falling behind on my goals I will look at my eats first but yes, you will definitely see me step it up on my activity level.
Heidi - Sorry to hear about your sick little one, I hope he gets to feeling better soon. I hope it doesn't go around the house as well! The measurements were motivating, just also almost shocking. It's like Brittani said, it doesn't happen over night but one day you look inthe mirror and say this sucks!
Matt - Thanks for your insight and experience. I have read and been told many times it is more about keeping the eats clean than it is about hitting the gym twice a day. That will definitely be my long term focus.
